The untold history of slave revolts led by women warriors who planned and led revolts on slave ships across the Middle Passage, fought against slavery in the Americas, and then went unmentioned. Dr Rebecca Hall, a professor of history and granddaughter of slaves, talks about the legacy of slavery that haunts her. Her journey took her to old court records, slave ship captains' journals, fragmentary correspondence, and even forensic evidence of slave women's bones from the "negro burying ground" uncovered in Manhattan.
